Ublossom Chocolate Packaging Design Switzerland

"Anything is good if it's made of chocolate". It all started in 2018 on the tiny island of Sao Tome. The heavenly place is one of the world's primary producers of Cocoa beans.

The visit of three individuals to the island in 2018 made to think about a new dream and project. On their holiday, the Swiss founders, Miguel and Kukikila, discovered the cocoa pond on the place.

The local farmers approached to train them to make chocolate as they realized that these individuals were from Switzerland. This made them think about a new aspect and the demand for pure chocolate in the market.

With many challenges and desires, they decided to embark on the adventure, and after two years, in 2020, their first chocolate bars were born. Thus, they achieved their first step finally as their products were launched with a massive effort in the market.

In the second step, they realized their biggest challenge was finding the best agency in the world that understands the quality and product better as promoters; moreover, an agency with diversified experience across the globe.

Challenge

  • As the products were introduced in African countries also, the client demanded the touch of African patterns in their packaging design. Creating a pattern that suits both cultures was a challenge.
  • Selecting the shades that make the product highlight also related to chocolate leads to considerable research.
  • The client needed every flavour to complement others and create a full family because of multiple variants with changes in the cocoa percentage.
  • As many presentations are on the back of the packaging, choosing an appropriate font with crisp clarity and attracting consumers was challenging.
  • Position the product details and icons appropriately so people can visualize them without effort.
  • Creating a window on the client's demand and showcasing the details and icons made a lot of learning and research for the team.

Solution

  • Since the product was launched in the African and Switzerland market, DesignerPeople researched the competitive analysis, placed the product in the appropriate category, and displayed the complete process within the limited space on the packaging.
  • Placed the most attractive and suitable colour tones, which complements the purpose of highlighting and a chocolate shade to the product.
  • Designed the perfect design with windows on the front side and the rest of the icons and contents on the back within the limited space in a more convenient format that is attractive to the eye-sites.
  • The brand logo is kept sharp and accurate, which will increase the recall value of consumers and project on shelve quickly.
